Lead Navigator for K12 Academic Support

Kenya joins EdNavigator with sixteen years of experience serving as both an instructional coach and school leader. Her work has centered on instructional planning, instructional coaching, and the creation and facilitation of profession development aligned to school improvement plans. Through her instructional coaching development leadership, she has led three Title I campuses to improved state accountability ratings and was recognized by Texas Education Agency for accelerated student growth, student progress, and post-secondary readiness. In 2018 and 2019 as Dean of Instruction, her campus was rated a “best school” by US News and World Report. She has coached over one hundred instructional leaders and teachers in implementing effective instructional coaching models aimed to increase student learning. As a result of her service, each system experienced decreased teacher attrition and increased student achievement results quickly. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership as well as Principal, ESL, and 4-8 Generalist certifications. Kenya is excited to bring her knowledge and skills to families to improve achievement rates of underserved populations. Kenya resides in Houston, Texas with her husband (Marco) and six children Chancellor, Chanel, Reagan, Chanler, Vhia, and Amina (18, 13, 13, 12, 11, 9) and enjoys traveling, exercising, cooking, and eating.
