EdNavigator Named One of Fast Company’s "Most Innovative Companies"

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: EdNavigator has been named one of Fast Company magazine’s Most Innovative Companies of 2020. This highly selective awards program recognizes innovative organizations from around the world that are “transforming industries and shaping society.”

We couldn’t be prouder to be in the company of so many other inspiring honorees. Chosen by a team of Fast Company’s editors and reporters, past winners have included companies like Apple, Peloton, DonorsChoose.org, Girls Who Code, and Square. We’re thrilled to be named one of 10 honorees within the Education category this year.

This award recognizes our history of innovation delivering exceptional education support to hard-working families; in particular, our strategy of connecting with families at the workplace, through their employers.

Right now, more than 6,500 families in New Orleans and Greater Boston have access to support from our Navigators through 20+ employer and community partners. These dedicated organizations range from boutique hotels and dynamic local businesses to Fortune 500 companies and top-tier universities. In our view, this award is theirs as much as ours. They know that a good education can be life-changing. Every day, they make space for working moms, dads, and other caregivers—as well as adult learners—to meet with Navigators who help them keep their families on the path to a vibrant future. We are deeply grateful for all of our partners’ commitment and collaboration.

We aren’t planning to stop innovating any time soon. This year, we’re upgrading our mobile app, the technology platform that enables families and Navigators to communicate securely, track goals, and get helpful tips and reminders. We’re launching a randomized controlled trial with researchers at Tulane University and the Brookings Institution to assess the impact of our work on students and families in New Orleans. We’re creating new partnerships that will integrate our navigation services with pediatric offices and clinics. And that’s just the beginning.

More than anything, we hope this award puts a spotlight on the need for better education support for families of all backgrounds. We continue to believe that we can dramatically improve educational opportunity and outcomes for many more students simply by ensuring they and their families get clear information, trusted advice, and a little help at key moments along the way. We look forward to working alongside our growing roster of partners to bring exactly that kind of support to families nationwide in the years to come.
